Anything involving your DVSA booking deserves a sceptical look, so here is exactly what does and does not happen:
Neither learner sees the other’s booking reference until both of you have actively agreed to the swap. Nothing is revealed to someone just browsing.
The swap happens on the DVSA’s own phone line, made by you. SlotSwap never touches, holds or modifies your booking, so there is no grey area and no risk to the slot you already have.

It can, if another learner wants your later date as much as you want their earlier one — which is common, because plenty of learners need more practice time and would rather move back than cancel. A swap depends on finding that match, so it is not guaranteed, but it does not cost you your existing slot if no match appears.
